When Collecting a Green Star, there’s a extra option to stay in the level.When Collecting a Normal Star, you either have the option to leave to Starship Mario or go back to the Mission select.The pause menu now has the option to restarting the current mission.You can have the original option of reseting these counts.Lives, Coin Counts and Starbits are not reset when you exit out of the game.Once per level, when you collect 100 Starbits, you have the option to have the Rainbow Star.Upon death, half your starbits are removed instead. The Ice Flower also can throw Ice like New Super Mario Bros.The Super Bell, Ice Flower and the Red star have been added to the game, including 20 extra missions for them including the Green Stars.There have been various changes to the Super Mario Galaxy 2 game There’s also new cutscenes everytime you beat a world, showing Bowser in his Castle, building his galaxy and reacting too how Mario is stopping his Plans.The Biggest one is that there’s a completely new yet optional Story with Lubba once you complete a World, how he met Rosalina, his crew and how he lost his wife and kids, you can access this new backstory in the engine room.The Plot is nearly identical to the Original Game, however there are some new additions Nintendo decided to get Blue Falcon Games East to port the game along with Super Mario Origins. Super Mario Galaxy 2 Ultimate was announced on the 6th of December & would release on the 7th of May. Being the biggest criticisms of the collection being the lack of Super Mario Galaxy 2, the reason why Galaxy 2 was emmitted from the collection was for 2 main reasons, They didn't have enough time to port Galaxy 2 and that if it was ported, the collection would have been way too big.

It was announced for the 7th of May 2022 both physically and digitally exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
